Inclusive experiences

Our program is open to everyone!

We are working hard to become a fully inclusive museum attracting all kinds of different people. People with and without disabilities alike are welcome to participate in our inclusive experiences.

We have developed our inclusive experiences in conjunction with partners including the Bavarian Blind and Visually Impaired Association (BBSB), the Deaf Association of Munich (GMU) and the Center for Museum Education (MPZ) amongst many others.

Want to take part in an inclusive public experience?

We offer regular guided tours with sign language interpreters and multisensory tours. While primarily aimed at the blind and visually impaired exhibits to touch, smell and hear are of interest to all our visitors.

Consult our events calendar to find out the dates and times of events. Simply pick an event you’d like to attend – everyone is welcome to come along and join in, alone, with friends or family, with a carer, or indeed with anyone else.

Want a guided tour or workshop for your individual group?

Simply pick the activity that interests you and make a booking for your individual group. Some activities are run by the Museum itself, while others are offered by our partners from the MPZ (Center for Museum Education) at the Museum.

  • “Typically Munich!" – Inclusive guided tour about the history of Munich / in simple German
  • Erasmus Grasser – An interactive tour for all the senses. Open to everyone, particularly suitable for blind and visually impaired schoolchildren / in German
  • Grasping Munich – Inclusive tactile tour in the “Typically Munich!” exhibition / in German
  • Living in Munich / in simple German

Please make your booking as early as possible and no later than 10 days before you intend to visit the Museum.

Assistive listening system for groups

We provide an assistive listening system for guided tours with groups of 8 or more people. It helps our visitors to hear what the guide is saying. Neck loops are also available. Please note that our assistive listening equipment is provided free of charge. It must be used for groups of 8 and over.
