All real?
With over 35 productions from Israel, France, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Spain, Belgium, Denmark, Switzerland and Germany, the Wunder. festival 2024 will ensure that nothing in Munich is as it seems for 12 days. Wunder. not only brings things to life, but also shapes the debate on artificial intelligence: Who animates whom? The puppeteer the puppet? Or the material the puppeteer? Wunder. once again puts its finger on the sore spots of our time and invites you to be enchanted at HochX, Schauburg, Pathos, Schwere Reiter, Einstein und Luise, Bellevue di Monaco and Instituto Cervantes. This year's program also includes the Munich Paper Theatre Festival in Oberföhring's Bürgerpark.
Wunder. shows adults, teenagers and children what is currently happening in the world of puppet theatre. Scraps are transformed into creatures that seem as primeval as they are futuristic. Lovable monsters and sinister shadows, dancing bags, figures on strings, made of paper and wool, doppelgangers and lovers populate Munich's theatres and allow the audience to participate in the infinite mystery of the imagination. This edition of the festival pays particular attention to contemporary circus and its use of objects and materials.
