“Munich 72” Storytelling Café

Share your memories of the Munich Olympics

We are currently preparing an exhibition on the Munich 1972 Summer Olympics and would like to invite you to share with us your memories and memorabilia of this important event (for example, photos, films, documents, garments, written records and any other souvenirs).

Do you have any personal stories about the 1972 Olympics? Were you actually involved in the preparations or running of the event? How do you think the city changed ahead of the Games? What memories remain fifty years on? Do you have any memorabilia stashed away?

Your personal contribution to the Munich 72 exhibition

Why not drop by the Münchner Stadtmuseum’s Storytelling Café and share your Olympics anecdotes and memories with us. And if you still have anything that holds special memories of the 1972 Games, bring it along!

We will use the stories and memorabilia collected at the Café to add a finishing touch to “Munich 72. Fashion, People and Music”. This exhibition, which runs from July 29, 2022 to January 8, 2023, will take a historical and contemporary look at events around the time of the 1972 Munich Olympics.
