Mementos of Munich nights – an appeal for memorabilia

Were you once a habitué of Munich’s vibrant nightlife? Do you have any old tickets for a concert at the Alabamahalle or the Domicile lying around in some forgotten drawer? Or perhaps an ashtray from the legendary nightclub, “Tanzlokal Größenwahn”, lurking at the back of a cupboard? If so, we could do with your help.

The Münchner Stadtmuseum is currently preparing a major exhibition on Munich club culture since 1945 and is looking for items that awaken memories of those unforgettable Munich nights. We are particularly interested to learn the stories behind the objects. So please get in touch with us if you have any interesting memorabilia suitable for our collection. We could then investigate it, with a view to including it in our forthcoming exhibition.

• Membership cards for the “smoking clubs” that sprang up in the 2000s
• Photographs
• Video recordings
• Items of furniture
• Decorative items
• Signs
• Etc.
