Reframing the Collection

Welcome to the Photography Collection Research Site where we take a more comprehensive and scholarly look at our digital holdings which include but are not limited to our Online Collection. We rediscover our Collection’s photographers and artists, provide background about large volumes of hitherto neglected items with a view to informing any further research and address methodological issues that arise in the course of our work. This process reframes the Photography Collection and opens a window on new contexts and perspectives.

We have often provided multiple articles on individual collections of images. They can be read separately and contain further references to additional content. You can search our research site by genre, photographer, period and other keywords, and articles can be sorted by topic.
